Day 5: Cedar Shake Den

I feel a little depressed looking at this room in good light… but I guess the good thing is, there is very little to lose. I had in my head that there was just an “accent wall” of shake, but it’s more like 3 out of 4 walls are shake and the fourth is a trainwreck of layers of wallpaper on plaster. The plan was to whitewash the shake on the single accent wall, but being in this room I feel like I’m being smothered in shag carpet. It’s just A LOT. WE SHALL SEE. WE SHALL OVERCOME.

Honestly, I’m thinking the shake should go. This room has hardwood floors, original floor trim, a big pocket door, and a beam and panel ceiling (which needs just a little bit of love.) Lots to work with, maybe just work with what’s pure and good.
